It feels like every year, J.T. Miller's name comes up in trade rumors around the National Hockey League and now more than ever, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
Miller is proving that he's worth the contract given to him by the
Vancouver Canucks and looks like he's well on his way to being above a point-per-game player for the fourth consecutive season.
Despite Miller's success on the ice in Vancouver, his name continually pops up in trade rumors and the most recent comes from former NHL enforcer Paul Bissonnette on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast.
Paul Bissonnette wonders if J.T. Miller could be a fit for Boston
On this week's edition of the Spittin' Chiclets podcast, Paul Bissonnette, aka Biznasty, wondered if J.T. Miller was available on the NHL's trade market and if he could be a fit for the Boston Bruins as their first line center.
Other members of the Spittin' Chiclets crew seemed a bit confused and asked why Vancouver would even want to trade J.T. Miller, to which Bissonnette says that there are 'ruffled feathers' and he doesn't see eye-to-eye with star forward
Elias Pettersson.
Trading J.T. Miller right now wouldn't be the right move for Patrik Allvin and the Vancouver Canucks as he's been the team's most consistent centerman in each of the last three seasons and was playing quite well in 2024-25 before taking a
leave of absence for personal reasons.
The Vancouver Canucks need J.T. Miller in their top-six for the foreseeable future and while they could get a kings ransom for him on the NHL's trade market, they're unlikely to get a player in return that could replicate his offensive output during the team's competitive window.
In 17 games with the Canucks this season, the East Palestine, Ohio native has 16 points (six goals, ten assists), nine penalty minutes and is a plus-one.
