Goaltending coach makes a very bold statement on Thatcher Demko
In 2014, the Canucks used their second-round pick to draft Thatcher Demko.
Little did they know Demko would develop to be the franchise's starting goaltender and this draft's saver. In 2015, the Canucks also picked Jake Virtanen, Jared McCann, Nikita Tryamkin, and Gustav Forsling. Apart from Demko, the team's pick in the first few rounds of the draft ended up being massive busts or went on to have NHL
success once they left the Canucks.
A goalie coach gave a very interesting on Canucks Army earlier and spoke of Demko's impact on the Canucks and their opponents when he's between the pipes.
Goalie guru @KevinisInGoal
gives his thoughts on Thatcher Demko's upcoming return to the Canucks lineup!
Demko has been an essential fixture of the Canucks' success, and just like any aspiring team, they'll need their starting netminder on top of his game. To suggest that he's been so good for the team that he's started to play in team's head is very interesting.
Hopefully this energy will carry through to the playoffs and help the team win the highest of honours.
