With all the rumors that Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes may be joining team USA to compete in the finals at the 4 Nations Face-Off despite the rules, Team Canada has given their point of view on the matter.
Team Canada has no problem with Quinn Hughes joining Team USA for the 4 Nation Face-Off finals
Coming off a Norris trophy winning season and debatably the best all-around defenseman in the NHL, when it was announced that Quinn Hughes would be missing the tournament due to an injury, it was clearly a major blow to the United States roster.
But now, their could be a change of plans.
With the rules stating that another defenseman on the team will have to sit out with an injury or illness, it is up in the air if Hughes will be allowed to play.
After losing to USA, you would think Canada and their fans would care if their rial added the best defenseman to their roster, but NHL insider Pierre LeBrun has reported that Canada could care less if he plays.
Team Canada has no issue with Quinn Hughes joining Team USA but the NHL again today says it's status quo as far as Hughes not being able to play unless there's an injury/illness to another Team USA D.
At the end of the day, the 4 Nations Face-Off is coined as a true "best-on-best" showcase, and Canada is confident that they can best USA in their highly anticipated rematch even with Quinn Hughes on the blue line.
