It is no surprise that the days are numbered for Nils Hoglander with the Vancouver Canucks.
Even though reports have come out that the Canucks and the camp of Hoglander are trying to repair their relationship, head coach Rick Tocchet does not trust the young forward to play in the top-6, despite scoring 24 goals last season.
Nils Hoglander has even put his best foot forward to try and get more minutes from his head coach, admitting that he has not played his best hockey.
Trusted NHL insider Kevin Weekes, reported that Vancouver Canucks forward Nils Hoglander has garnered a lot trade interest.
He made it known that the Washington Capitals, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Columbus Blue Jackets are among the front runners with the most interest.
But, one name that has not been mentioned are the Boston Bruins, but Hockey News reporter Michael DeRosa made a good argument for why they should go after him.
With the Bruins not having a ton in cap space, Hoglander only carries a cap hit on $1.1 million for this season, but he would have to be a rental as his contract extension kicks in after this season
The main thing is that the Boston Bruins need scoring, which Hoglander has clearly proven in his 2023-2024 campaign, where he scored 24 goals and 12 assists for 36 points.
He is not getting the opportunities under Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet to improve, or even match his production from last year.
A change of scenery may be exactly what the doctor ordered for Hoglander and the Bruins.
The Bruins would have to part ways with a prospects such as Fabien Lysell or Georgii Merkulov, but the chances of them wanting to do that is low, but id they do they get a proven 20+ goal scorer in the NHL.
