The Vancouver Canucks' biggest move this off-season was signing forward Jake DeBrusk to a seven-year contract after they missed out on Jake Guentzel, who had his rights traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning and then inked a long-term deal with them.
It's hard to envision Patrik Allvin and the Vancouver Canucks making another huge splash before the 2024-25 season begins, but one insider believes they could still be in the mix for two of the biggest names on the trade market right now.
While on Sekeres and Price this week, Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff said that he wouldn't say the Canucks are totally out of the mix when it comes to landing either Martin Necas of the Carolina Hurricanes or Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers.
Both Martin Necas and Nikolaj Ehlers would cost the Vancouver Canucks quite a bit to acquire, potentially even one of their top prospects such as Jonathan Lekkerimaki or Tom Willander, something Patrik Allvin likely isn't keen on doing at this point in time.
Things can obviously change between now and training camp, but it's probably safe to say that the Canucks are done adding to their roster, aside from a potential PTO or two. They may also look at adding a veteran backup goaltender too, if Allvin wants to go down that route as a safety net incase of an injury to Thatcher Demko.
