Former Canuck Anson Carter to receive huge honour later this year
Former Vancouver Canucks forward Anson Carter is set to receive a huge honour later this year.
Anson Carter, who spent the 2005-06 with the Vancouver Canucks where he set a new single season high in goals, will be inducted into the Michigan State Athletics Hall of Fame this fall, the university announced on Thursday.

We're excited to induct six Spartans, along with the 1965 and 1966 football teams, into the Michigan State Athletics Hall of Fame this fall.

Carter, 50, was a star for Michigan State University between 1992 and 1996, recording 178 points (106 goals, 72 assists) in 156 games and was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award in 1995, following his third year.
"As a junior, Anson Carter had a standout season for @MSU_Hockey, scoring a team-best 34 goals and was named a Hobey Baker Award finalist.
After his time at MSU, he went on to win two World Championships with Team Canada."
In August 2005, the Toronto native signed a one-year contract worth $1 million with the Vancouver Canucks and went on to have one of the best seasons of his National Hockey League career. In 81 games, Carter registered 55 points (33 goals, 22 assists), 41 penalty minutes and was a minus-one.
After retiring, Carter eventually became an analyst with NBC in 2013 before moving to Sportsnet in Canada and TNT in the United States. Carter is also leading a group that it trying to bring a National Hockey League franchise back to Atlanta, Georgia.
