It has been looking grim for Vancouver Canucks' goalie Thatcher Demko, as it was originally reported that "he wasn't close to returning, but there has been a surprise change of events involving his return from injury.

According to a report from Vancouver Canucks analyst platform, Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie and Dhali, that despite all of the rumors of the lack of significant progression to his knee injury, it looks like Canucks fans can expect Demko back sooner rather than later.

He is around 2 to 3 weeks away, which would put his return to mid-late November.

«I reported last week there was progress with Demko. Tocchet saying progress with Demko this week. I think he's two to three weeks away. Let's play it by ear, and I think that if he can get back in two or three weeks, that would be good.»

As of right now, the rush to have him back ready to play is not as dyer as it was at the beginning of the season. Offseason signee Kevin Lankinen has been an absolute stud in net for the Canucks all season long. The 29-year-old goaltender has recorded a 2.29 goals against average (GAA) , a 4-0-2 record and an elite 0.920 save percentage (S%).

Even though it is not a rush for him to return, Vancouver would love to him him back as soon as possible for the fact that backup netminder, Arturs Silovs has struggles badly to start the year. He currently holds the worst save percentage in the league. He has a 0-2-1 with a 5.00 GAA and a .797.
