Vancouver's six-game homestand continues on Tuesday night as they welcome another Western Canadian club, the Calgary Flames, to Rogers Arena.
On Saturday night, the Vancouver Canucks were forced to go with 11 forwards and seven defencemen against the Edmonton Oilers. It was a tough contest for the Canucks as they fell to the Oilers by a score of 7 to 3.
The following day, the Canucks announced numerous roster moves including assigning Nils Aman, Arshdeep Bains and Arturs Silovs to Abbotsford, although the latter has already been brought back up.
Among those called up to Vancouver was top prospect Jonathan Lekkerimaki, who's poised to make his NHL debut tonight.
48 hours after being sent down to Abbotsford in the American Hockey League, Arshdeep Bains has been recalled by the Vancouver Canucks, a move the team announced in a social media post on Tuesday.
Bains, 23, has been back and forth between the Vancouver Canucks and AHL Abbotsford on several occasions since the 2024-25 season began, with a handful of those being just paper transactions for salary cap reasons.
In seven games this season with Vancouver, the Surrey, British Columbia native has one goal and is a minus-three. His lone goal, which was his first in the National Hockey League, came back on October 26th against Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Along with his seven NHL games, Bains has also appeared in two contests in Abbotsford, registering four points (one goal, three assists), four penalty minutes and is a minus-one.
With 13 forwards now on the Vancouver Canucks' roster, we'll have to wait and see later today who will be the odd man out, but it's safe to say there's a good chance that Bains will feature tonight against the Flames.
