Rick Tocchet's group are set to be featured on national television on Sportsnet's Wednesday Night Hockey as they continue their road trip in D.C. against Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals.
The Canucks are coming off a tough overtime loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Monday night and will look to get back into the win column against a Capitals team that leads the Metropolitan Division with a record of 26-10-4 through 40 games.
With just hours to go until puck drop, we now know who will get the start for the Vancouver Canucks tonight and it appears that there are reinforcements on the way for Rick Tocchet.
Goaltender Kevin Lankinen to start for third straight game
Dan Murphy of Sportsnet shared on social media on Wednesday morning that Finnish netminder Kevin Lankinen will get the start tonight, his third in a row, while Thatcher Demko is close to returning after he left last Thursday's game against Seattle with an injury, which was later revealed to be back spasms.
Murphy also shared that forward Elias Pettersson and defenseman Derek Forbort will be game-time decision ahead of tonight's contests in Washington.
Pettersson hasn't played since December 23rd against the San Jose Sharks and last week, was placed on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury.
