Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes was back in last night's lineup, but admitted that he didn't feel the best in his first game action in nearly a month.

The Vancouver Canucks got some great news on Wednesday as Quinn Hughes returned from an injury that he suffered at the end of January in a game against the Dallas Stars.

Quinn Hughes praises medical staff, admits he didn't feel his best

Quinn Hughes finished second on the Vancouver Canucks in ice time last night, skating in 21:38, trailing only Filip Hronek who got up to 26:03 during the win.
Hughes played a key role in Vancouver picking up the two points and snapping their two-game losing streak as he recorded a primary assist on Conor Garland's overtime winner, bringing his points total this season to 60.
After the game, Quinn Hughes met with reporters where he praised the Vancouver Canucks' medical staff for helping him get back into lineup after missing the team's previous six games with what was revealed as an oblique injury.
Hughes also admitted that he didn't feel his best during the game and that he hopes to build confidence from that win going forward.
"Really thankful to our medical group, who did a great job with me," Hughes said according to Noah Strang.

"I'm just going to have to keep building, can't say I felt my best tonight, but I got through the game, and hopefully, I can build confidence from there."
The 25-year-old has been quite outspoken about the Vancouver's medical staff in the past, including their handling of Tanner Pearson's injury back in the 2022-23 season, which limited the former Canuck to just 14 games, so they were probably happy to receive some praise from the captain.
As for how Quinn Hughes played last night, he did pretty well and it's never easy to jump right into top pairing minutes after not playing a game for 26 days, so the captain definitely deserves a pat on the back for his performance.
Last night's win put Vancouver back a wild card spot in the Western Conference and they'll look to remain there with a win tonight as they take on the Anaheim Ducks, with puck drop set for 7 pm PT on Sportsnet Pacific.
