Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet expressed his disappointment when speaking with the media following last night's defeat to Seattle.

The Vancouver Canucks returned home for their first game at Rogers Arena in over two weeks last night as they hosted the Seattle Kraken, with with Thatcher Demko getting the start in goal.
Last night's game was an important one for Vancouver's odds of making the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but with a 5-0 loss to the Kraken, their hopes of clinching a postseason berth for the second straight year are all but over.

After the game, Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet met with reporters to discuss the 5-0 loss and understandably, he was disappointed, highlighting the fact that his team got "nervous" and had to chase the game.
"I think that early on, I saw a lot of nervousness. I think we had some guys that really gave some effort but I didn't think we had a lot of poise tonight." Tocchet said.

He went on to add, "76 shot attempts, a lot of missed nets, blocked shots, the same old story. That's where the poise is. You know the guy is going to be in front, you've got to fake it, go around then shoot it. These are the poised plays. 76 shot attempts, I like it, but you'd like to see more result-orientated."

However despite being disappointed with the loss, Tocchet is trying to keep his hopes up and says that the team won't give up in this playoff race with just seven games remaining in the regular season.
Entering Thursday, the Vancouver Canucks sit eight points back of the Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues, who both have 89 points, for the two wild card spots in the Western Conference.
Vancouver has a game in hand on both the Wild and Blues, and at this point, can't afford to lose at all in their final seven games if they want to keep their Stanley Cup Playoff aspirations alive.
According to MoneyPuck, because of last night's regulation loss to the Kraken and other games around the league not going in Vancouver's favor, the Canucks now have just a 1.9 percent chance of making it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Canucks will be back in action this weekend for back-to-backs against the Anaheim Ducks (1 pm PT Saturday) and Vegas Golden Knights (7 pm PT Sunday).
