With the trade deadline just 23 days away and the Vancouver Canucks still on the look out for help down the middle, a new name has entered the mix for Patrik Allvin to consider.

Over the last couple of weeks, the Vancouver Canucks have been linked to a number of centermen on the trade market as their search continues following the departure of J.T. Miller in a trade with the New York Rangers.

In an updated trade watch list, The Fourth Period has linked the Vancouver Canucks to New York Islanders forward Kyle Palmieri, who's in the final year of his contract and will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
The Fourth Period shared that Palmieri will have a big say in where he gets dealt to before March 7th as his contract includes a 16-team no-trade list.
Along with the Vancouver Canucks, the Colorado Avalanche and Los Angeles Kings, two teams they're chasing in the Western Conference standings have also been linked to the 34-year-old.
"Like Nelson, Palmieri could be on the move if the Islanders are out of the mix by the deadline. The team needs to recoup draft capital and young assets and moving him and Nelson will help collect some of those pieces. He owns a 16-team no-trade list, though, and will have a say in where he ends up, if dealt.

Teams reportedly Linked: Los Angeles, Vancouver, Colorado" The Fourth Period said.

Palmieri, a native of Smithtown, New York, has appeared in 55 games for the Islanders this season where he's registered 37 points (16 goals, 21 assists), 14 penalty minutes and is a minus-six.
At the time of the NHL's break for the 4 Nations Face-Off, the New York Islanders are just four points back of the Detroit Red Wings for the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference, so for now, they're still in the mix for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
However, they have a tough schedule between when the NHL resumes play and the trade deadline on March 7th, with four of their six games against teams currently in Stanley Cup Playoff positions (Stars, Rangers x2, Jets), while they'll also face a Boston Bruins team they're chasing in the standings.
New York Islanders General Manager Lou Lamoriello will have some difficult decisions to make pretty quickly at the end of February and it'll be quite interesting to see if Patrik Allvin sends a trade offer for Kyle Palmieri or potentially his teammate - Brock Nelson.
