MAJOR | The Capitals are leaving Washington
The Washington Capitals appear to be relocating across the Potomac River and into Northern Virginia at Potomac Yard.
There is believed to be a deal in place that sends both the Capitals and the NBA's Washington Wizards to an entirely new state.
The deal sending both squads across the Potomac River is apparently «imminent» as the state of D.C. continues to negotiate in attempts to keep them in downtown Washington. However, the offer from the state of Virginia is reportedly close to $1 billion, which would prove to be extremely hard to match for D.C.
So as it stands, it appears the Capitals along with the Wizards are set to call a new state as their home.
