LATEST | Rick Tocchet provides an update on forward Pius Suter
The Vancouver Canucks have been without the services of Swiss forward Pius Suter for a month now, but it appears that his return to the lineup is very close.
On Tuesday when speaking with reporters, Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet said that there's a possibility that Suter returns to the team's lineup on Thursday night against the Florida Panthers.
"He's close, he could play Thursday" Tocchet said.
Suter last appeared in a game for the Canucks exactly one month ago, on November 12th against the Montreal Canadiens where he only played 12:59 in the 5-2 win.
Since then, Suter has been sidelined with what's being reported as a groin injury and he reportedly suffered a setback in his recovery a couple of weeks ago.
The Zurich native signed a two-year contract with the Vancouver Canucks this past summer and has appeared in 15 games this season, putting up four goals, four penalty minutes and is a plus-three.
In the meantime as the Canucks await the return of Suter, they're set to take on the Tampa Bay Lightning at Rogers Arena tonight. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET and can be viewed on Sportsnet Pacific in the Vancouver region.
