LATEST | Line brawl and goalie fight erupts in wild WHL blowout
The Regina Pats and Moose Jaw Warriors ended their seasons with a bang on Sunday, with one side getting the better of the other in a big way.
The Regina Pats have been the WHL's second worst team since losing Connor Bedard to the NHL draft, and they were absolutely steamrolled on Sunday, dropping their final game to Moose Jaw 11-1.
With 7 minutes left to go and already down by 8, tensions boiled over for the Pats resulting in a line brawl and a goalie fight between Pats' Kelton Pyne and Jackson Unger of Moose Jaw.
While cooler heads ultimately prevailed, even the head coaches had to be restrained in this wild affair in the WHL.
Regina's head coach Brad Herauf said he felt Moose Jaw was disrespecting his team.
I did not like the way they handled the power play units, the way that they were giving out ice time to their players and very disrespectful to the Regina Pats, and I thought it was disrespectful to the game of hockey.
It ends a long season for the Pats, while the Warriors move on to the WHL playoffs.
