MAJOR | Ilya Mikheyev leaves the game with an injury: Tocchet updates
The Canucks were back on home ice tonight and managed a hard-worked, Canucks-style win. Brock Boeser caught a lot of attention when he scored his 16th and 17th of the campaign, but a particular play in the third gave the fans a pretty good scare.
MIKHEYEV LEAVES THE GAME WITH AN APPARENT INJURY
During the third period, Ilya Mikheyev received a cannon of a shot blasting from Myers' stick straight to his left leg. The Canucks' winger had an issue getting back, and the play was ultimately stopped so that Mikheyev could get back to the bench.
Mikheyev already missed some time at the beginning of the season for a leg-related injury. Rick Tocchet addressed the situation and the reassuring news:
'Rick Tocchet says the x-rays were negative on Ilya Mikheyev. Sounds like the preliminary update is that the #Canucks forward should be OK.''
Mikheyev has been a vital component of the team's first line, and it would hurt the team's depth if he were to be sidelined again.
