BREAKING: Flyers players refuses to take part in the warm-up because of LGBTQ+ jerseys
The Philadelphia Flyers we're playing the Ducks and it tonight represented a special occasion.
It was a night of celebration in Philly, since the Flyers were celebrating the LGTBQ+ community. They had special jerseys for the warmup and Ivan Provorov's name will be heating up in the media since he refused to take part in the warm-up.
The Flyers issued the following statement during the game:
"The Philadelphia Flyers organization is committed to inclusivity and is proud to support the LGBTQ+ community. Many of our players are active in their support of local LGBTQ+ organizations, and we were proud to host our annual Pride Night again this year. The Flyers will continue to be strong advocates for inclusivity and the LGBTQ+ community."
There had been rumors that the Flyers may have been shopping the defenseman, this may complicate things. John Tortorella has already commented on the matter:
"With Provy, he's being true to himself and to his religion»
Hard to believe, that these kind of events can still happen in 2023.
