Despite numerous injuries, the Vegas Golden Knights sit third in the Pacific Division as they try to return back to the playoffs after missing it for the first time in franchise history last season.
However, the Golden Knights got hit with a tough blow as TSN's Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun announced that Golden Knights captain Mark Stone, who's been dealing with back issues, has has undergone surgery and is out indefinitely.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Chad Prusmack in Denver Sports Medical Clinic. Due to his previous back issues, as well as his recent injury January 12th, the Vegas medical staff felt surgery was the best decision to help Stone to hopefully make a full recovery.
The Golden Knights' captain had 38 points through 43 games this season.
