The Senators believe they can make the playoffs this year and our battling for a wild-card spot in Eastern Conference. With that said every game matters now and every point is crucial so losing to the Chicago Blackhawks a team in the NHL's basement was clearly frustrating and it showed during Monday night's game.
With the Blackhawks leading 4-0 late in the 2nd period Blackhawks defenceman Jarred Tinordi would bump Senators captain Brady Tkachuk into goaltender Alex Stalock. Tkachuk would take the opportunity and bumped Stalock a little harder causing Tinordi to drop the gloves with Tkachuk.
This would continue into the 3rd period with the Blackhawks having a commanding 5-0 lead over the Senators frustrations would boil over during a major scrum Tkachuk would try to fight Blackhawks goaltender Alex Stalock.
Unfortunately, the linesmen intervened stopping Tkachuk from getting to Stalock who was challenging Tkachuk after being tackled by Tkachuk in the 2nd period.
After the game Senators would discuss the disappointing loss to the Blackhawks:
All through this one had some craziness to it the Senators need to put this in their rearview, as next up is the Seattle Kraken a much tougher opponent than the Chicago Blackhawks.
