DREGER: Interest drawn for the Canucks' big right-handed defenseman
The Canucks are in desperate need of cap space and could really use the roster spot that Tyler Myers has been taking.
He definitely hasn't played up to the expectations set by the contract he signed and perhaps a change of scenery would do him loads of good.
Darren Dreger talked about the matter on insider trading, by stating that there had been interests for the big defenseman. Even though he carries a hefty $6.0M AAV until the end of 2024, a contending team would gain by adding Myers, according to the insider.
It's been reported that the Canucks had a trade in place with the Senators, but the deal fell through and according to Myer's agent it wasn't their side that refused the trade.
The 6'8'' defenseman's career high season in points came in his rookie season with Buffalo. He then registered 48 points in 82 games. Since he's arrived in Vancouver his points production has only decreased and he now only has 6 assists in 28 games.
What would be a sufficient return for Myers?
