Where the Vancouver Canucks will select in the first round of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft was confirmed on Tuesday night following results around the league.

Nearly a week ago, the Vancouver Canucks saw their Stanley Cup Playoff hopes come to an end and attention turned pretty quickly to where they could select at the draft in June.
Heading into action on Tuesday night, the Vancouver Canucks first round position was set to be confirmed based on the final score of the St. Louis Blues-Utah Hockey Club game.

Vancouver Canucks first round draft position has been confirmed

Last night, the St. Louis Blues dominated Utah Hockey Club, winning by a score of 6 to 1 and in the process, clinched a spot in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs as the second wild card seed and they'll be taking on the Winnipeg Jets in the first round.
Because of Utah's loss in regulation, the Vancouver Canucks are now all but confirmed to be locked in to the 15th overall pick, unless they move up to fifth overall, with the odds of that happening being 0.5 percent according to Canucks News Summaries on X.
"With tonight's results, Canucks are now locked into the 15th overall pick with a 0.5% chance of moving up to 5th overall." Canucks News Summaries said.
This summer, the Vancouver Canucks have a big need to address, that being the second line center role and there's a good chance they'll have to go down the trade route and may have to use that first round pick to land someone that'll help them next season.
If Patrik Allvin opts to use the pick rather than trading it, there are a handful of players to keep an eye on including Barrie Colts defenseman Kashawn Aitcheson, Everett Silvertips forward Carter Bear (no relation to Ethan Bear) and Justin Carbonneau, a forward for Blainville-Boisbriand Armada in the QMJHL.
The Vancouver Canucks are no stranger to selecting 15th overall in the first round either as they used that exact pick at the 2022 NHL Entry Draft to take Swedish forward Jonathan Lekkerimaki, who is having a solid first full season in North America.
Other notable names that have been selected 15th overall in the past include Mike Bossy (1977), Al MacInnis (1981), Joe Sakic (1987), Alex Kovalev (1991) and Erik Karlsson (2008).
Some notable options that insiders believe will be avaible for the Vancouver Canucks to take at pick-15.
