When the Vancouver Canucks selected defenceman Quinn Hughes with the 7th overall pick in the 2018 draft, many questioned the Canucks decision due to Hughes' size feeling he'd be too small.

Little did they know that Hughes would become one of the best defensemen in the League. Saturday night, Hughes made history during the game between the Canucks and the Maple Leafs at Rogers Arena.

"With two assists tonight, Quinn Hughes became the fastest defenceman in NHL history to reach 200-career assists in 263 games played, beating Brian Leetch who reached the milestone in 264 games played."

The good thing is Hughes is still very young, meaning when the Canucks end their re-tool, he will be entering his prime and hopefully lead the Canucks to a Stanley Cup.

Adam Fox, one the recent Norris trophy winner, plays in a top tier league in the NHL and only has 186 assists through 266 games. Hughes still has much to develop in his game and when they hired Sergei Gonchar the plan was to develop a Norris Trophy candidate. Can Hughes take his all-around game to that level?
