Hughes firing shots about the way things are handled
The Canucks failed to hold their own in Tampa Bay and ultimately fell short 5-4. Nobody was satisfied in that locker room after this loss.
Quinn Hughes has been the team's pillar and steadiest performer all year, tonight he didn't fail to indicate his disappointment toward the team's management. He was asked about the whole Tanner Pearson situation and said:
"I feel bad for him. I mean, it wasn't handled properly and you know, it's not really a good situation he's got there and hopefully, he's going to be alright."
Pearson was set to be out for 4 weeks when he injured himself in what we believe was the game in Ottawa. Now the team has just announced that he would be out for the remainder of the season after a second surgery.
What's mishandled here? The announcement? The expectations towards his return? The fact that Pearson played the day after his injury in Montreal?
What seems clear is that the team's top defenseman doesn't feel like it was dealt with in the right manner and it's causing quite a consternation through the Twitter feed.
