IN-GAME UPDATE: Bad news for the Canucks and Carson Soucy
The Canucks held the fort against the Flames tonight and carried their 3-1 lead up to the finish line to end the pre-season on a good note.
CANUCKS LOSE A SOLDIER IN THE WINWhile the Canucks won this meeting, one soldier fell to an injury and was out after the second period. In an in-game statement, the Canucks confirmed that Carson Soucy wouldn't be finishing the game:
''Vancouver Canucks D Carson Soucy will not return to tonight's game.''
At this point, no official update has been given on his health status. However, the on-going belief is that a knee injury could be the base of it all:
''Rick Tocchet says no update on Carson Soucy. I was pleased with how his D managed the game when they were down to 5 D-men.''
Hopefully, it isn't too bad; Soucy has shown great promise since he joined the team. He's a valuable asset in the defensive zone and the penalty kill; he'd be a significant loss for the team's defensive core.
