LATEST | Former Canucks point out the one thing that needs to be added to the team's culture
The Canucks have a lot of things on their plate this summer. One thing that seems to be dealt with is the coaching situation. Allvin and Rutherford wanted to bring in an experienced coach with more structure and to make the players accountable.
Fair to say, from what we've seen, Rick Tocchet seems to be leading his team in the right direction in that regard. Jannik Hansen, the former hard-working Canuck Jannik Hansen was on the People's Show earlier this week and pointed out exactly what this team was lacking:
''If you can't earn it, take it yourself. It's not yours. In Vancouver, spots have been handed to guys who haven't earned them because the competition wasn't good enough''
Rick Tocchet has already related to these comments in previous statements, as he strongly believes that internal competition is one of the best things to have within a team. Hansen amplifies that the Canucks much reach that level of competitiveness and believes that Tocchet will be starting off on the right foot once training camp kicks in.
We're expecting a much different playing style out of training camp once Tocchet has had enough practice time to leave his mark on these players and the Canucks' systems.
