Andrei Vasilevksyi has been the league's top netminder for a few years. He help the Lightning win back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2020 and 2021. He even took his team to the final in 2022 as well where they were defeated by the fast and skilled Avalanche.

Ever since he entered in 2014 the league Vasilevsky has quite the pedigree as he's won, 2 Stanley Cups, 1 Vezina Trophy (League's top goalie), 2 NHL All-Star Team, and 1 Conn Smyth Trophy. Now the Leafs are down 3-1 against the Leafs in the playoffs' first round and Vasilevksyi hasn't looked nearly as good as he's been over the last few years, Derek Lalonde (Former TBL Assistant Coach) has his takes on why.

Lalonde was the team's assistant coach up until last year before he took on the head coaching job with the Detroit Red Wings. The coach shocked a lot of people when he revealed what seems to be Vasilevskyi's weakness. He revealed that the infamous Lightnings' number 88 had lots of issues with finding pucks coming from long-range and that they had to adjust their entire D-zone coverage. After 4 games, it's fair to say the Leafs have figured it out.

''We did a study...he was one of the lower-percentage goalies in finding pucks from the point...we changed our entire Dzone (coverage)''

The Lightning will be facing elimination in Toronto on Thursday. It'll be interesting to see how they respond after losing their last three games. Can Vasi bounce back and shut down the Leafs for three straight games?
