LATEST | Former National Team defenceman passes away at 23
Some sad news to report on in the hockey world on Monday as over the weekend, a former member of the Bosnia & Herzegovina National Team passed away at the age of 23.
The former defenceman, Amon Rakic, was reportedly involved in a car accident in Bosnia & Herzegovina, according to Klix.ba.
Note: the following quote is translated from Bosnian.
"The accident happened at 4:20 p.m., and Rakić was involved with a motorcycle and two cars.
The MUP of Sarajevo Canton confirmed to us earlier that the motorcyclist died at the scene of the accident. Traffic in this area was difficult while the investigation was being carried out."
Rakic played nine games for the men's national team between 2016 and 2020, scoring twice. He also spent all of his club career in his home country, playing for HK Sarajevo Medvjedi and HK llidza.
Our thoughts are with the Rakic family at this extremely difficult time.
