A few days prior to the trade deadline, Allvin and the Canucks shook the Hockey world when they traded the Islanders' 2023 1st Round Selection* along with their 2023 2nd Round Selection for the right-handed shot defenseman Filip Hronek.

Hronek has been on the sidelines healing from an undisclosed upper-body injury ever since he was acquired by the Canucks, but video footage of the defenseman revealed that he had started skating again. Although there is no timeline yet on his probable return, Allvin has been pretty confident about the fact that we'd be seeing Hronek skate with the Canucks before the end of the season. Here's the footage:

Hronek is meant to be the long-awaited right-handed defenseman that will be shredding minutes off of Quinn Hughes. Hronek will be entering the last year of a deal on which he gains $4.5M annually, the Canucks paid a hefty price to acquire his services. however, if he adapts well to Tocchet's system, the Canucks would potentially have one of the league's best top 2 defensemen.

If they're planning on making the playoff run as soon as next, having two top-end defensemen and an elite netminder surely helps.
