According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Kings are looking to shed salary this summer and one name that's reportedly out there and available for trade is forward Viktor Arvidsson.
Arvidsson, 30, is coming off one of the best seasons of his career where he put up 59 points (26 goals, 33 assists), 24 penalty minutes and was a minus-four in 77 regular season games. During their playoff series against Edmonton, Arvidsson was arguably one of the Kings' best forwards, recording seven points in six games.
The Skelleftea (Sweden) native could become a hot commodity on the open market this summer and would be a player that General Manager Patrik Allvin has his eyes on, but with the Canucks' current cap situation, it may be difficult to make it work.
2023-24 will mark the final year of Arvidsson's contract and he's set to earn $4.25 million, which is very reasonable for his offensive production. He'll become an unrestricted free agent in July 2024.
Friedman on 32TP says the Los Angeles Kings want to clear some cap space and he's hearing Viktor Arvidsson, that is a player that might have some availability out there. NHL Watcher (@NHL_Watcher) May 20, 2023
