After the results of the draft lottery were known, a lot of people were unhappy, calling it rigged, with others stating that the Blackhawks shouldn't have a first-round pick this year after an investigation into the organization's handling of sexual assault allegations.
While it's extremely unlikely, some people on Twitter have brought up the possibility that Connor Bedard pulls an Eric Lindros at the draft and refuses to play for the Blackhawks. For those who don't remember, Lindros was selected first overall by the Quebec Nordiques in 1991, but refused to even wear the team's jersey at the draft and was subsequently traded to the Philadelphia Flyers eight days later.
On a recent edition of the 'CHGO Blackhawks' podcast, Regina Pats announcer Dante De Caria gave his thoughts on if he thinks Bedard could pull an Eric Lindros at the draft.
Regardless of what your thoughts may be on him going to Chicago, the 18-year-old Bedard has the potential to turn the Blackhawks into a Stanley Cup contender once again. But General Manager Kyle Davidson will need to surround him with other pieces that can aid in the team's success.
We can all stop this «pulling a Lindros» nonsense.
