The Toronto Maple Leafs General Manager Kyle Dubas went all in, ahead of the NHL trade deadline, adding a handful of new players including one of the biggest trades of all, acquring Ryan O'Reilly in a trade with the St Louis Blues.

Just when everything seemed to be going well in Leafs Nation the Leafs got hit with a major blow, as the news broke that Ryan O'Reilly has been placed on long-term injured reserve today with a broken finger.

O'Reilly took a puck to the hand, during Saturday night's game vs the Vancouver Canucks. In the video of the incident you could see O'Reilly was in a great deal of pain and had Leafs fans concerned for the worse.

At his media availability, TOR head coach Sheldon Keefe says Ryan O'Reilly has a broken finger and will be going on LTIR. (Timeline uncertain as of now.) John Tavares won't play tomorrow vs NJ as he is a little under the weather.

The good news is we still have a little bit of hockey to play before the playoffs, giving Leafs fans hope that O'Reilly can be healed enough to be ready to go come playoff time.

The Canucks managed a 4-1 win over the Leafs when Thatcher Demko stole the show with an absolute beauty of a performance.
