According to multiple sources, it sounds like former Vancouver Canucks forward Tyler Toffoli will be on the move from the Calgary Flames.

On Thursday, it was revealed by Frank Seravalli that Noah Hanifin, Elias Lindholm and Mikael Backlund won't be re-signing with the team when they become unrestricted free agents in July 2024. Then later in the day, Seravalli added Tyler Toffoli's name to that list.

"Not to throw another log onto the fire for #Flames, but the potential exodus continues.

I'm told Tyler Toffoli also plans on not re-signing in Calgary." Seravalli said.

Shortly after Seravalli's tweet, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman shared that the Calgary Flames have made Tyler Toffoli available for trade.

"There is word this afternoon that Calgary has made Tyler Toffoli available for trade" Friedman said on Thursday.

Toffoli, 31, has one year remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $4.25 million, but only $3.5 in actual salary. Last season with Calgary, the Scarborough native set new career-highs in goals, assists and points. In 82 games, he had 73 points (34 goals, 39 assists), 28 penalty minutes and was a plus-16.

As many fans remember, Toffoli spent 17 games with the Canucks during the 2019-20 season and the bubble playoffs. During ten regular season games, he was a point-per-game player, adding four points in seven Stanley Cup Playoff games. Instead of trying to re-sign Toffoli, like most fans wanted, former GM Jim Benning allowed him to walk to free agency, where he signed a four-year deal with the Montreal Canadiens.
