It's not too often team's get the chance to grab former first round pick for free. But there's one currently available as the Nashville Predators have placed forward Mark Jankowski on waivers today.
The 26-year-old center was drafted 21st overall by the Flames back in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Even though Jankowski hasn't reached the potential he was hoping for, he is a very solid two-way shut down center.
You wonder if the Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin might scoop him up for the Canucks because of his solid shut down role? Jankowski can help with the Canucks who have given up five or more goals 26 times this season, and he's cheap with a just a annual salary of $750,000 making him a low risk pickup.
