According to Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, the Washington Capitals have informed teams around the National Hockey League that Mantha is on the trade block and available.
Mantha, 28, has one year remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $5.7 million. His cap hit is pretty high for his production and it might scare some teams off. Seravalli went on to add that if the Capitals are unable to find a trade partner, then it's possible he could have his contract bought out.
In 67 games this season, the Longueuil (Quebec) native had 27 points (11 goals, 16 assists), 31 penalty minutes and was a minus-eight.
Per reports, the Capitals are ready to move on from Anthony Mantha and have informed teams that he's on the block.
A buyout could also be on the table for the 28-year-old, who said on breakdown day that he wanted to return and prove what he can do:https://t.co/8SPGJP04Gw Sammi Silber 🏒 (@sammisilber) June 2, 2023
