TRADE PROPOSAL | Proposal is trending; Canucks move their first-rounder down and acquire BC native defenseman
The Preds' new GM Barry Trotz pulled his first deal earlier today when he shipped the veteran centerman Ryan Johansen at a 50% discount.
The Predators have been linked to various trades in attempts to move up their draft selection. A trade proposal has recently been trending on the internet, trade in which the Canucks offered the 11th to drop down and add assets:
To Nashville
- 2023 1st Round Selection VAN (11th)
To Vancouver
- 2023 1st Round Selection NSH (15th)
- 2024 2nd Round Selection TB
- Dante Fabbro
This seems like a hefty price to pay to move up 4 ranks. Fabbro, 25, a former 1st Round Draft Pick, is also a BC native. 6'00 and 190 pounds, he's a reliable two-way defenseman with great offensive, precisely what the Canucks could use to back Filip Hronek on the team's right side.
It's hard to think Nashville would give up that much only to move up 4 picks unless they really really like a precise player. If the Canucks were given this offer, it's definitely a no-brainer.
