While J.T. Miller's been the man of the hour in Vancouver and at least half the fanbase wants to see him leave, a fan went ahead and included him and Tyler Myers in a trade to Ottawa. I'm just not quite sure he remembers Miller's 99 points last season. Here's the 'said'' proposal:
It's known that Myers is likely leaving sooner than later. The moment someone's willing to take his salary he'll be out the door. The proposal though sends:
Nikita Zaitsev
Austin Watson
Lassi Thomson
1st Round Pick
Thomson's a former 19th overall pick in 2019. Still has great potential to this day and he's right-handed. Watson is most likely included for salary purposes, but Vancouver definitely has no gain in acquiring him. A 1st Round pick still holds value, but it's the price that needs to be paid in order to take Zaitsev.
Cap-wise, Ottawa could pull it off for the remainder of the season, but they'd have a hell of a puzzle next year, especially with Debrincat needing a new deal. On my end, it's definitely not enough for Miller, even though the Canucks need cap space, there's no way they'd ever consider his value to be this low. What are your thoughts on this proposal?
