UNBELIEVABLE | Kuzmenko's in-game drink and snack are now known and never could you've guessed what it was
The Canucks won the Kuzmenko derby this summer and the scoring winger has been tremendous for the team since he entered as a freshman.
He showed great abilities and offensive prowess yet again last night in the team's 6-2 win against the Flyers. Though a particular exchange between
Andrei Kuzmenko and
Elias Pettersson is actually what retained the most attention.
While on the bench, images were captured of Kuzmenko grabbing a banana as an in-game snack. Known to be a great nutritional complement for athletes, there's nothing weird with that. But the images captured allowed us to witness Kuzmenko grabbing a cup with an unknown substance. Here's the clip:
Elias Pettersson's reaction on the bench says it all. In an interview after the game he revealed that Kuzmenko had been drinking PEPSI during the game. Who would've thought?
It surely is a weird mix, though it's hard to argue anything he's doing since it's been working quite well for him. Kuzmenko inked a 2-year, $11M deal and is on pace for over 30 goals this year with 24 tallies and 48 points in only 55 games.
It was revealed earlier this season that Alex Ovechkin had similar habits (he drinks Coca-Cola during matches), perhaps it's a Russian secret for their scoring abilities?
