With just over a week to go before the NHL trade deadline day, the Vegas Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon just cleared some major salary cap space, suggesting something big is in the works.
The Golden Knights placed their captain Mark Stone on long-term injured reserve, due to his season ending back surgery. Stone is a big part of the Golden Knights success so he's definitely gonna leave a void in the offence.
The Golden Knights now have an extra $9.5 million dollars to play with. What's interesting is the Chicago Blackhawks are going to make Patrick Kane a healthy scratch ahead of Tuesday's game vs the Vegas Golden Knights, could we see Kane heading to Sin City?
It's definitely not a guarantee, but Vegas has the best odds to acquire Kane or other guys including Timo Meier, Brock Boeser or Jakob Chychrun, or anyone McCrimmon sees fit. However, if I was a betting man I'd bet it all on Kane heading to the Golden Knights.
