The Vancouver Canucks have just made Rick Tocchet the 21st coach in their history and a clip has resurfaced on the internet showing how the type of character he displayed on the ice.

He definitely wasn't one to shy away from a fight since he didn't hesitate to drop the gloves on Scott Stevens. Looking through his stats it makes you wonder what type of player he was back in his days.

In 1992-1993 with the Pens, Tocchet registered nothing less than 109 points and 252 minutes in the penalty box.

This clip though goes back to his Flyers days:

Tocchet surely learned to canalize his energies. Through his 1144 NHL games he was penalized for a total of 2972 minutes, to give you a fair comparison is about 300 more than Donald Brashear. Tocchet also added 952 points.

If he properly teaches J.T. Miller to canalize his emotions into proper motivation, he could build up into quite the monster.
