Don Cherry's daughter unexpectedly passes away
We have some sad news to share on Thursday morning as the daughter of long-time Hockey Night in Canada personality Don Cherry has passed away.
In a social media post on Wednesday evening, former CBC News producer Simon Dingley shared that Cherry's daughter Cindy has sadly passed away at the age of 67.
In Cindy Cherry's obituary on the website of funeral directors Turner & Porter, it shares that the long-time pet rescue advocate passed away unexpectedly back on Monday, July 15th at Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. She's survived by her son Del, father Don, brother Tim and niece Grace.
Cindy, along with Don, have been animal advocates all of their lives and up until her passing, Cherry's daughter was the President of 'Don Cherry's Pet Rescue Foundation'. She was involved in numerous charities throughout her life and helped start 'Rose Cherry's Home for Kids', a hospice and respite facility located in Milton, Ontario.
The thoughts of everyone here at Canucks Daily are with Don Cherry and the Cherry family at this very difficult time.
