The Canucks took another exciting roll of the dice as they signed a former top prospect from the Flyers' organization.
The team has been true to its original plans, adding multiple former top prospects in their 20s who could use a fresh start. The team just announced that it had signed Carsten Twarynski, the former Flyers' third-round Draft Selection, to a one-year deal.
ROSTER ADDITION ALERT 🚨
Abbotsford Canucks General Manager, Ryan Johnson, announced today that the club has signed forward Carsen Twarynski to a one-year AHL contract.
Twarynski rapidly grew into the Flyers' system and had every attribute to be an excellent bottom-six forward. With speed, size, and grittiness, he could very well be a late bloomer, much like Dakota Joshua when he first came to the Canucks. An interesting scouting report confirms his potential:
Is a solid role player with the energy to change momentum on the ice. It is good on the forecheck and when delivering hits. Lacks natural goal-scoring acumen. He is not ideally suited to play more than a bottom-six winger role at the highest level.
