LATEST | The Price to acquire Chris Tanev determined: Trade proposal from the Canucks emerges
Everybody knows the Canucks are incredibly high on the veteran Defenseman Chris Tanev. The former Canucks is known to be a heck of a warrior when the stakes are at their highest. Captain Hughes wants him back, but Tanev still holds Vancouver very high on his list, and a reunion seems inevitable.
TANEV'S PRICE TAG FINALLY REVEALED
In recent discussions, NHL insiders have revealed that after the Lindholm trade, the Flames have clarified that the acquisition price for the veteran defenceman Chris Tanev would be a second-round pick along with a prospect.
Tanev, an experienced and seasoned veteran, knows how to do the job. He is an excellent shutdown defenceman and shot blocker; his smile speaks for itself.
TRADE PROPOSAL TO BRING HIM BACK TO VANCOUVER?
With no picks in the 64 first selections of the upcoming draft, the Canucks could look to use their second-rounder from the 2025 selection. As far as prospect goes, looking in the Canucks' B Prospect Pool, players like Sawyer Mynio, Kirill Kudryavtsev, could be on the Flames' radar.
Where things could get complicated, Tanev carries a $4.5M cap hit, and the Canucks have no cap space. For a trade like this, Allvin would have to get creative and move some money around.
