MAJOR | Unexpected turn of events in Ottawa: Brady Tkachuk on his way out?
In 2023-24, the Senators were expected to compete for a playoff spot this season, not in the conversation for 1st overall.
Given their disappointing season, significant changes are expected on the Senator's roster, with core players expected not to be off limits.
On Tuesday, Ryan Whitney of the Spittin Chiclets podcast fuelled speculation that those changes could be drastic, even including Brady Tkachuk as a potential casualty.
While the podcast host doesn't claim to be an insider, he says the "rumour boys" hear that the Sens captain could be dangled as trade bait.
Whitney added that he doubts the team would be "that dumb" to make such a trade.
Sportsnet Elliotte Friedman has previously speculated that the organization could explore 'sending a lightning bolt' through their roster to send a message, and trading your 24-year-old, the nearly point-per-game captain would undoubtedly do that.
