The NHL Draft is set to be the next big event in the NHL once the Stanley Cup comes to an end. The Canucks will be approaching the event with an open mind as they'll likely start moving their pieces in order to achieve their main goal, trading away contracts to gain cap space.

A massive offer was drawn now involving three teams in a deal where the Canucks move both Tyler Myers and Conor Garland, a deal in which they aren't just dumping contracts, but actually getting something in return:

To Arizona

- Tyler Myers
- Mikael Granlund
- Mark Friedman
- 2023 3rd Round Selection New Jersey

To Pittsburgh

- Conor Garland
- Lawson Crouse (50% Salary Retention in Arizona)

To Vancouver

- Samuel Poulin
- Joshua Brown
- 2023 3rd Round Selection Washington
- 2025 3rd Round Selection Pittsburgh

Canucks trade away $10.95M in contract, retrieve Samuel Poulin, a former first-round selection who has yet to live up to the expectations. Joshua Brown, a 6'5'' right-handed shot defenseman who already has over 200 NHL games under his belt (Essentially the equivalent to Tyler Myers with a $1.275M cap hit for only a year), could be a great depth asset for the Canucks. On top of that, they'd also receive two 3rd Round selections for the future.

The Coyotes would obtain players to help reach the cap floor who could also turn out to be great trade chips further down the road. The Pens on their hand would be adding two hard-working wingers to complement their aging core.
