Former Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson says he played throughout the entire 2024-25 campaign with an injury while speaking with reporters on Thursday.

While the Vancouver Canucks had a disappointing season by missing out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the fourth time in five years, the Boston Bruins had an even more difficult year.
The Bruins traded away their captain Brad Marchand and finished tied for last in the Eastern Conference and it appears one of their forwards, Elias Lindholm, who left Vancouver to sign with Boston as a free agent on July 1st, played through an injury all year long.

Elias Lindholm opens up on tough season, reveals injury he played through

On Thursday morning, the Boston Bruins gathered for their end of season media availability and when it was Elias Lindholm's turn to speak with reporters, he revealed that he suffered a back injury last August, just weeks before training camp, that he had to deal with throughout the 2024-25 campaign.
"Elias Lindholm dealt with a back injury, suffered in early August." Ty Anderson of 98.5 The Sports Hub said on X.
"I was kind of chasing it and it was snowballing from there. It was not great," Lindholm said according to MassLive. "I felt like I was behind for a long time."

Lindholm said that he puts a lot of the blame on himself for the Bruins' poor season after he signed a big contract and didn't perform up to the level he would've wanted to.
"When you sign a big contract, you want to perform. There's been a lot of successful years here and obviously this year (was) not as successful. So, you kind of put a lot of blame on yourself when you're here to improve the team and it went the other way." Lindholm said.

Lindholm, a native of Boden, Sweden, finished the 2024-25 season with 47 points (17 goals, 30 assists), 14 penalty minutes and was a minus-four in 82 games.
The 30-year-old centerman has six years remaining on his contract and in the 2025-26 campaign, will look to contribute offensively even more so the Bruins avoid missing the playoffs in back to back seasons since 2014-15 and 2015-16.
