MAJOR | NHL issues twenty-five thousand dollar fines
Anaheim Ducks Head Coach, Greg Cronin has been fined $25,000 for unprofessional conduct directed at officials.
Cronin was upset at a controversial goaltender interference call that was made by the replay review team.
After the call on the ice was upheld and the Ducks were penalized, Cronin was incensed and would be ejected from the game.
The Ducks would go on to defeat the Penguins 4-3 after Mason MacTavish scored with 13 seconds left in the game.
Following the game, Cronin explained why he was so upset.
He said "...It didn't look like goalie interference, in fact I thought Karlsson had hit the goalie, it wasn't our guy...I was kinda shocked...It's a risky decision...we felt...with conviction...that it was a legal goal."
Cronin, who is in his first year as head coach with the club, has had a solid start with the team as the Ducks are 6-4-0, a solid record in comparison to being one of the worst teams in the NHL last year.
