LATEST | Coyotes place 29-year-old forward on unconditional waivers
According to Cap Friendly, the Arizona Coyotes have placed 29-year-old forward Jean-Sebastien Dea on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.
"Arizona #Yotes have placed forward Jean-Sébastien Dea on unconditional waivers for the purpose of contract termination.
Dea is in the final year of a 2 year contract."
Dea, a native of Laval, Quebec, was in his first season with the Coyotes last year, only skating in four games with the big club in Arizona, while spending the majority of his time with the AHL's Tucson Roadrunners.
In 67 games for Tucson last season, Dea put up 50 points (23 goals, 27 assists), 42 penalty minutes and was a minus-22. He also added one assist in three playoff games. Meanwhile, in four games for Arizona, Dea went pointless and was a minus-two.
It's unclear what comes next for Jean-Sebastien Dea, but having his contract terminated likely signals that he has a better opportunity awaiting, possibly in Europe, but we'll have to wait and see where things go.
