LATEST | Former Bruins, Red Wings goaltender passes away at 74
Some sad news has come out in the hockey world on Sunday afternoon.
On their Twitter account, the Boston Bruins Alumni announced that long-time NHL goaltender Gilles Gilbert has passed away at the age of 74.
Gilbert spent parts of 14 seasons in the National Hockey League with the Minnesota North Stars, Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings between the 1969-70 and 1982-83 seasons.
The St. Esprit, Quebec native appeared in 416 games and had a record of 192-143-60, a 3.27 goals against average, a save percentage of .872 and 18 shutouts.
