REPORT | Alex Galchenyuk has found his new home
According to reports, former third overall pick Alex Galchenyuk has found his new home for the 2023-24 season.
Russian website VK.com is reporting that Galchenyuk has signed with Kontinental Hockey League club Spartak Moscow.
Galchenyuk, 29, was set to play for the Arizona Coyotes next season, signing a one-year deal with them, but had his contract terminated in July after being arrested by Scottsdale Police on a number of charges.
He apologized to everyone involved including the police officers and to the Coyotes organization and said he was going to enter the NHL/NHLPA Players Assistance Program.
The Milwaukee, Wisconsin native has spent parts of 11 seasons in the National Hockey League with Montreal, Arizona, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Ottawa, Toronto and Colorado. In 654 career games, Galchenyuk has 354 points (146 goals, 208 assists), 257 penalty minutes and is a minus-85.
