LATEST | Former Canucks defenceman Chris Tanev takes puck to face
Former Vancouver Canucks defenceman Chris Tanev is no stranger to putting his body on the line to help his team get two points in the standings, something he did many times during his ten seasons in British Columbia. And on Monday night, that's exactly what he did.
During Monday's game against the Vegas Golden Knights, Tanev was in his own zone and went to block a shot, but the puck went off his face.
Tanev dived to block the shot of William Karlsson in front of goaltender Dan Vladar and after it hit him in the face, he was forced to leave the game and did not return.
Thankfully for Tanev, his teammates were able to rally for the win and took it in overtime thanks to defenceman MacKenzie Weegar, who scored with just seconds to spare.
At the time of writing this, there hasn't been an update on Chris Tanev's, but everyone here at Canucks Daily wish him the best and hope he's able to get back on the ice and into game action as soon as possible.
